Cambridge Computer Base Exam
The vast majority of Cambridge ESOL exams in Cuenca are computer based.
In recent years Cambridge ESOL has introduced the possibility of taking its exams by computer with two main advantages: more exam dates are added each year and candidates can register for the exam up to three weeks in advance, allowing them to take the exam when they are really ready for it.
In addition to a number of other benefits, among which we highlight:
Characteristics of the course
- Faster access to results, with scores available online three weeks after the exam.
- Many students are more comfortable taking the exam with a keyboard and mouse than with paper and pencil.
- Candidates can modify their answers on the screen during the examination.
- The use of headphones for Listening exercises means that they can adjust the volume to suit their needs.
- In the Writing part of the course, they count the words, so you don't have to count them all the time.
- The online timer and help functions enable the candidate to achieve the best results in their exam performance.
If you are considering taking the computer-based test, remember:
- The computer-based exam is another possible choice of exam and does not replace the paper-and-pencil option. Apart from the method of completion, both exams are exactly the same and are recognised by Cambridge ESOL. Intensive research and testing has been carried out to demonstrate that this is the case.
- The security of computer-based examinations is ensured by high-security codes and on-screen locking services.
